Whilst CES Ltd are 1 of only 4 electrical contractors on the framework to deliver services for TATA steel in Port Talbot, we are the only contractor trusted with the technology for the design, installation and commissioning of all rail safety points and barriers at the TATA Port Talbot and the Scunthorpe steelworks.
Piccadilly is their most complex as it is their main crossing for the Fully loaded “torpedo” trains that carry the hot molten steel from one area to another.
The system involved integrating a complicated network of rail crossings using barriers and lighting to stop traffic at a safe distance whilst the torpedo was travelling with molten metal.
CES Ltd were the principal contractors for this works and included a substantial civils element to enable us to run in cables throughout the system.
The project was completed on time and within budget.
